I love collaborating with clients to create the perfect logo and brand assets. Need web ads, event collateral, social media graphics, single or multi-page brochures or an easy to fill form? They're my speciality.
How did I get here? In my younger years I thought I would be a teacher, teaching English or Literature. But in high school I took a journalistic writing class and that changed everything. My sister was doing illustrations for a small advertising agency in the area and I had the owner come and speak to our class. After that, I knew I wanted to go into advertising and create cool stuff.
With a degree in advertising under my belt, I went to work for a small weekly newspaper. From there I worked in specialty advertising design and sales, designed wholesale costume jewelry catalogs, then proceeded on to retail copywriting, hospital graphic design and communications and real estate marketing. Along the way I freelanced and offered my skills and expertise to local non-profits, organizations and schools. Each of these stops offered opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Having been classically trained in copywriting and typesetting, I understand the nuances of type and how it affects a layout. Tracking, kerning and leading, when used effectively, lead to a better design and reader experience.
Deadlines? They're not a problem. I'm known for completing a project on time or even early. I may sleep on a project for a night or two, but inspiration always comes.
What do I do when I'm not working? I enjoy flower gardening, going for walks, reading a good book, watching Predators hockey and having a cup of tea with friends.
